LA, Hollywood, Santa Barbara

Took my parents to LA, Hollywood and Santa Barbara on Labor Day Weekend of 2005. Among the attractions covered were Universal Studios, Hollywood and Beverly Hills tour, LA downtown, Malibu Temple and Santa Barbara's sea lion cruise. Good times.

Santa Barbara is a great place to visit. There is a lot more to do than just the main tourist attractions. Go hiking, kayaking, wine tasting, etc. Just a tip, whenever I stay in Santa Barbara, I always stay at the Sandman Inn (www.thesandmaninn.com). A great price and a great location, you can't really beat it!

I've really enjoyed reading your blog so far - you are so well traveled! I wish you had said more about Santa Barbara though. I used to live in Hollywood, and just recently moved to SB, I am always curious about visitor's experiences. I definitely suggest going wine tasting and checking out La Super Rica Taqueria (Oprah's favorite Mexican food!). Also there are beautiful hikes and camping. If you are on a budget a great hotel to check out (that is a fraction of the price of most of the upscale luxury SB htoels) is The Sandman Inn (www.thesandmaninn.com). Happy Travels!

Santa Barbara is so much fun! This is a great blog and it brought back many great memories for me about my time spent in that gorgeous town! I could spend all day (and I have) at Butterfly Beach reading a book and enjoying the scenery then grabbing a Blenders afterwards. I used to go there all the time but do to some tragic affairs I have been unable to make it to my favorite beach haven. A recommendation; a great and affordable hotel for you to check out would be the South Coast Inn (www.santa-barbara-hotel.com). Really elegant and the best place to escape all the city noise.
